Donate compute · grow the cluster

Put your spare PC to work for Kituwa.

Have a strong computer that sits idle most of the day? Add it to the Kituwa k3s cluster as a worker node. Your spare CPU, RAM and disk help run community apps, and every verified contribution is logged for future rewards.

Voluntary contribution. No payment is required, we do not touch your personal files, and you can stop at any time.

01

Join as a node

Your PC runs a small Kubernetes agent and takes on containerised Kituwa workloads whenever there is spare capacity.

02

Spare power only

We set resource limits so the node uses spare CPU and RAM. Your files, accounts and personal apps stay yours.

03

You stay in control

You can pause the node, reboot it, or leave the cluster at any time. Nothing is locked in and there is no contract.

The hardware

What kind of PC works?

Strong · online · yours

The best contributors are ordinary desktops, gaming PCs, mini PCs or home servers that already stay switched on. A laptop can work if it stays awake and plugged in, but a desktop is usually happier running day and night.

CPU 4 cores minimum

8 or more recommended. A modern 6-8 core desktop is plenty.

RAM 8 GB minimum

16 GB or more recommended, so Kituwa workloads can share the machine comfortably.

Storage 100 GB free

SSD strongly preferred. Containers and image layers need room to breathe.

Uptime Always on

Or near always on: most of the day, every day. Sleep and hibernation should be off.

Internet Stable & unmetered

Wired Ethernet is best. A good Wi-Fi connection is fine. Mobile hotspots and metered links are not.

System Linux preferred

64-bit x86 or ARM. Windows can work through WSL2 or a small virtual machine.

It should be a strong PC that is always on, or near always on, and connected to the internet.

A PC that sleeps, moves around, or drops offline for hours is not a good cluster node. A spare desktop or mini PC that lives on a shelf and stays plugged in is ideal.

The ledger

Tracking and future rewards

Verified contribution

Every accepted PC gets a node identity. While it is part of the cluster we can record when it checks in, how much CPU and memory it contributes, and how long it stays available. That creates a contribution record tied to you.

01

Send the offer

Tell us the specs, connection and how often the PC is on.

02

Review & onboard

We confirm the machine is suitable and set up a private, encrypted connection with you.

03

Log the contribution

Verified uptime and resource use go into the Kituwa contributor ledger.

04

Reward later

When Kituwa's apps start earning, we plan to reward contributors from that ledger.

Honest fine print.

Rewards are not live yet and are not guaranteed. We will publish the reward terms before anything is paid out. Contributing compute is a voluntary gift of spare capacity, not an investment, loan, security or promise of income.

What your PC will do

  • Run containerised Kituwa apps and background jobs.
  • Help keep the community apps fast when the cluster is busy.
  • Use spare CPU and RAM under limits we agree with you.
  • Report health and usage back to the cluster.

What we will not do

  • Read your personal files, photos or browser data.
  • Take over your desktop or change how you use it.
  • Install anything without walking through it with you.
  • Keep your PC if you want to stop. Unplug and it leaves.
